Frequently Asked Questions
Live-in care is when one of our dedicated
carers provides your loved one with personcentred
care 24 hours a day. Whereas visiting
care gives you the flexibility to choose when
you would like our carers to visit your loved
one. Perhaps you need a hand for an hour a
day while you take a break from your caring
duties, or in the morning and evening. Rest
assured; our carers will be on hand
whenever you need them.
Our carers can help with everything from
personal care such as oral hygiene and
bathing to household duties including
washing the dishes, the laundry and
helping with preparing meals. We can also
accompany your loved one to medical
appointments, their favourite local spots
like the café and to family events. More
importantly, we are here to provide
companionship, so your loved one will
never feel isolated and alone.
We believe consistency is key, so we try and
keep the same live-in carer in place for as
long as possible. With visiting care it's
slightly different, as your loved one will
have a group of carers that will tend to be
the same. If the need arises, we will always
guarantee cover if a carer is unable to
attend. So, we will make sure that your
loved one never has to go without care.
Yes, all our carers go through a Disclosure
and Barring Service (DBS) check. So, you
can have full confidence that we have the
right person to care for your loved one. We
also request references from our carers.
The cost of live-in and visiting care
depends on the level of support you
require. We will ensure that we will work
with you to find the most cost-effective
solution for you and your loved one.
For live-in care, we do our best to choose a
carer that shares the same interests and
hobbies as your loved one. Our team will
make sure they take the time to get to
know your loved one and their history, likes
and dislikes. We will then provide you with
profiles of carers that would be a suitable
match. After that, the choice will be yours.
With visiting care, you'll have a few
different carers that will look after you and
will be based on availability. However, we
try and keep it to the same number of
carers where possible.
